Global Goals
at Stake
Learn about the UN Sustainable Development Goals through play, debate and reflection
Global Goals at Stake is an interactive and educational board game designed for those interested in the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals — and for teachers looking for a creative tool to engage pupils and students in global learning.
The game combines a traditional board game with a free mobile app. The app ensures regularly updated content with real-world relevance, while the board game format keeps the experience social, fun and collaborative.
How the game works
Players are on a mission to achieve specific Global Goals. Each team is assigned goals by the app and advances on the board by answering questions correctly. Along the way, the teams encounter actions, real-world dilemmas and facts that encourage reflection and discussion.
The purpose is not only to introduce the Global Goals, but also to inspire players to think about their own role in building a more sustainable world.
The game is suitable for pupils in upper primary and secondary education, as well as anyone with an interest in the 2030 Agenda. It can be used in school subjects such as social science, geography, biology, history and language arts, either as a standalone activity or as part of a thematic course or project week.
